This story is part of a series that provides students and collectors images of a work by Andrea Hylands in the collection of museums or private collectors around the world.
The International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza houses the largest collection in the world dedicated to ceramics. The collection includes ceramics spanning five continents and many centuries of craftsmanship and skills, styles and materials.
Where the work was made. For many years Andrea's work was sent to exhibitions and commissions around the world. The landing images are from Andrea and Peter’s international home in Victoria and Andrea’s studio. This was a place of culture and business, attracting creative people from around the world to work on projects with us over a period of four decades. The property dating from the gold rush era was purchased in the 1970s and lost because of extreme antisocial behaviour including threats, extreme vandalism, assault, arson attack and complicity from state and local government including trying to build a road to nowhere through our garden, an old trick. That is why we still try to help Australians today who find themselves confronting injustice, corruption and violence. Take care out there. Image below, Gwyn Hanssen Pigott and Andrea discussing our award winning films (France), A potters film, in the living room.
